When I started reading the book Anabolic Cooking, written by author Dave Ruel, I was not a hundred percent what anabolic meant.  It didn’t matter, because Ruel starts off with an explanation.

Anabolic cooking is when you eat or cook those foods that will promote muscle building. The foods you eat will not only be good for you, they will help you to build strong muscle.

Anabolic is a word that is most often used with strength training and in conjunction with body building.  But anabolic eating and cooking is not just for bodybuilders. It is for all people who want to eat well, gain strength, look good and be healthy in their life.

What makes Anabolic Cooking different?

Is it hard to cook Anabolically?

Not according to the book.  Ruel talks about all the right foods, and also, offers a healthy eating plan.  He does not only focus on foods that need to be cooked, but plenty of raw food too.

The book makes it very simple to know what to eat, and also, when to eat it. We cannot give away his secrets, you need to buy the book for that, but the guidelines are very clear.

Ruel gives breakfast, lunch and dinner recipes and suggestions, as well as ideas for snacks. Most recipes cut carbohydrates out one hundred percent, as well as the bad fats. It’s all about protein and more protein, with some fruit and veg, and a lot of fibre.

Is it all about protein and fibre? That does make up a large part of Anabolic Cooking, yes. But it is important to ensure you are getting a balanced diet too.

Ruel focuses a fair amount on strength training. He is a world famous body builder and so he knows all about muscle. The book Anabolic Cooking, and again, we cannot give away secrets, also covers a perfect strength training routine.

Many people who are concerned with their body image and weight spend a lot of money on gyms and nutritionists. Ruel is trying to show that without spending too much money, one can achieve the perfect body, weight and ideal health goals at home.

Strength training is important. And when people train, they have to eat more, not less. Anabolic Cooking is about big portions of food, but all the right kinds of food.

Dave Ruel does not like supplements. He does not believe in them and he believes that supplements are not necessary when you do Anabolic Cooking.

  • Protein
  • Glutamine
  • Fish Oil
  • Overall Multi-vitamins.

We did find it a bit confusing that while Ruel does not like supplements and refers to this in Anabolic Cooking, he does mention the brands he does support. So he is open minded.

The author is indeed an expert on Anabolic Cooking, body building, muscle strengthening and weight loss. It is for this reason we do recommend you read the book.  Buy it online, either for yourself or for a friend, and see where it takes you.
