Health Letter to My Grandchildren

Looking back over the 25 years I've spent researching alternative medicine and better health, I'm concerned about the well-being of my grandchildren, and, eventually, their children, and all the young people in North America.

I'm concerned because today there are so many hazards to health, so many toxins to beware of, and so great a need to be vigilant to keep your health in top form. Here are some health tips for my grandchildren and all the children in this country as they enter adulthood:

Change Your Diet - Animal proteins are polluted with hormones and pesticides. Cut down on red meats and eat more fish, range-grown poultry and lamb, and fresh, pesticide-free vegetables. Avoid sugar; its negative effects on the body are well established. Seek out organic fruits and vegetables whenever possible to avoid contamination with agricultural chemicals. Beware of irradiated and bioengineered foods as both can harm your health.

Drink Pure Water - Public water supplies are increasingly contaminated with lead, pesticides and other agricultural runoffs, industrial wastes and other toxic chemicals, and harmful additives such as fluoride and chlorine. Many of these have been linked with the development of cancer. Drink pure spring or filtered water.

Take Supplements - Today's foods, even when organically grown, no longer deliver the nutrients you need. Take a complete multivitamin and mineral supplement daily to make sure your body gets enough of the nutrients it needs.

Exercise Regularly - Everyone says this because it's true. Try skiing, walking, swimming, or bicycling.

Detoxify - Think of it as an annual spring housecleaning to clean out the toxins in your body and support your immune system. Low-potency homeopathic remedies can help drain toxins out of your body's tissues and organs, especially the liver and kidneys.

Clean Your Colon - Stagnant intestines loaded down with unprocessed material is a source of many illnesses. Do a weeklong bowel cleansing program with fiber supplements at least once a year. A healthy colon will produce two to three bowel movements daily. If you start when you're young, you'll most likely have far fewer health problems when you're older.

Take Care of Your Teeth - Bad dentistry may leave you with poisons in your mouth. Avoid mercury fillings and remove all mercury dental amalgam fillings, gold caps, and root canals; eliminate gum infections; correct the bite.

See Your Health Future - Live blood cell tests using dark field microscopy can show you the subtlest traces of disease or biochemical imbalances - -long before it develops into illness so you can take preventive measures.

For Your Children - Don't go along with the conventional medical approach to pediatrics. There are natural solutions for most childhood health problems.

Be cautious about vaccinating your children. If you feel you must vaccinate, use electrodermal screening to see in advance how your child will react to each vaccine so those your child tests intolerant to can be avoided. Electrodermal screening can also tell you what strength dose to give to secure safe results. Finally, use homeopathic remedies to remove residues of the vaccine following the immunization.

Use the natural alternatives to Ritalin and other drugs. Have your child tested for allergies, eliminate sugar from the diet, and use nutritional support, not Ritalin, to resolve hyperactivity.

Don't give your child fluoride drops no matter what your dentist or pediatrician tells you about fluoride preventing cavities. There is no evidence to support this claim; in fact, there is extensive documentation of the health hazards of fluoride.

Electrodermal Screening: is a form of computerized information gathering, based on physics, not chemistry. A noninvasive electric probe is placed at specific points on the patient's hands, face, or feet, corresponding to acupuncture points at the beginning or end of energy meridians. Minute electrical discharges from these points are seen as information signals about the condition of the body's organs and systems, useful for a physician in evaluation and developing a treatment plan.

Vaccines: is a preparation containing a weakened (attenuated) or "killed" solution of a specific bacterium, virus, or germ believed to produce a disease. After it is injected into the body, the humoral immune system wages a protective response, developing antibodies to the disease-organism's foreign proteins. The theory is that the antibodies "remember" the antigen and will neutralize them in the future, thereby bestowing immunity to this illness. The word vaccine derives from vacca, which is Latin for "cow," because the first vaccination in 1796 was smallpox made from cowpox sores.
