We've Got a New Blog Name

We've picked a new name for our blog, we are now The Alternative Medicine Mentor. The Cancer Coach moniquer didn't quite cover what we do in regard to our consulting services as they have expanded at the request of our friends and clients.

Cancer Causing Agents All Around Us

There are carcinogens all around us in our environment, and here is another one that has been in the news lately. Teflon, the coating that is found on nearly every pot and pan available at stores today is now being called a "likely carcinogen". We definitely need more research on this factor! Alternative Health Clinics in the News

With the death of Corretta Scott King at an alternative medicine cancer clinic in Mexico in the news this week, alternative medicine clinics are in the news.

We found it interesting that Corretta Scott King turned to an alternative clinic for hope and care for her ovarian cancer and opted to not continue to pursue treatment in the US.

Many alternative medicine clinics do offer real hope for cancer treatment and improvement in the quality of life. However, some people wait until conventional medicine has failed them to consider alternative therapies and sadly in some cases, such as this one, the wait has devastating consequences for the family.

Early treatment and early diagnosis are the keys. The best combination for cancer therapy is conventional and alternative medicine combined together and used early!

Heart Disease in Women Is Hard to diagnose

This was an interesting article on the difficulty that the medical community has had and is still having in diagnosing women's heart conditions.

The typical heart attack in women does not mimic that widely publicized symptoms of severe chest pain, pain in the arm, and trouble breathing. For some women the symptoms are jaw pain, indigestion, fatigue. It even appears that some of the conventional treaments like bypass and removal of coronary blockage are not even effective for women.
